Amazon AI Software That Will Actually Help You

A big thank you to my friend @Sim Mahon for sharing this week’s IVS. Sim shared this one because — in his words — it’s “bloody amazing tbh.” Thanks, Sim!

This week’s IVS is a loom video that shares Dorian Gorski’s new software Keplo & his Amazon AI Group. I don’t want to blah blah too much, just watch the video (it speaks for itself)

Hey, can I interest you in a Death Whistle?

Welp, here’s the coolest (and scariest) product I’ve seen ever. A death whistle. You blow into it and it sounds like a person screaming in the most horrible way.

Watch the video to experience the joy.

Also, this review is great.

The ASIN Audit OS

Let me guess: 🤔

Your Amazon listing looks clean.
Your bullets sound sharp.
Your images are good.
And yet... conversion sucks, your ads are burning cash, and your competitors keep gaining on you.

You're not alone. This is the exact pattern we've seen on 100+ seller calls.

So we built The ASIN Audit OS: a dead-simple framework that teaches you the exact audit system we use to find (and fix) conversion killers hiding in plain sight.

Inside, you’ll get:

  • A complete step-by-step audit system

  • Proven tweaks to fix ranking, conversion, and ad bleed

  • The power to fix what’s broken without touching what works

This is the system I use every single time I run an audit.

This isn’t for sellers who want to “feel good” about their listings.
It’s for sellers who want to make money.

The Cosmans Go to Camp

This week we're at a different kind of beach, more of a lake. I dropped the boys off at their first overnight camp in Ontario, Canada, called Muskoka Woods. We wanted to give them a chance to stay on their own, build some independence, and try new things without us around.

Apparently, we picked one of the nicest camps in the country, so I doubt a more rustic version will fly next year 🤣

The boys had a blast. They made friends quickly, tried all kinds of new activities, spent their tuck shop money wisely (okay, they just bought candy), and managed to trade for a bunch of bracelets.

I guess these bracelets are handed out by different people, events, years, counselor exclusives, and more. It's like a Pokémon-style collection, with kids bringing their stash from previous years.

Marsha stayed back in CR as we're in the final stages of the new house. I’ll share more on that next time.

Hawaii has some of the best beaches 🤤

Inbound Shipment Box Size Change

A simple & useful tip for creating variations (using the GUI only)

No, you don’t need to use flat files, no you don’t need to use the “variation wizard.”
Here’s a simple way to create (or remove) variations for any Amazon listing.

  1. Make a “parent” listing for your children. All this means is create a new listing in the category your children are in (important, must be the same category).

  2. Then, add in your details to the parent listing. This product will not have a unique identifier (UPC/ASIN).

  3. Add in your children to the variation tab.

  4. Hit save. Boom - you have a variation listing.

  5. Made a mistake? No problem. Delete the parent and start again.

GOTCHA: The copy & images for the children will change to whatever you put in for the parents, so make sure to go into each child after and make the necessary edits.

Points are important. Your business is importanter.

all hail our glorious leader

You must not worship the altar of AMEX.

Yes, points matter.
Yes, we talk about them a lot.
Yes, you should be earning them (strategically).

But let's not confuse playing the points game with building a business that prints money.

There’s a dangerous kind of perverted productivity cosplay where people spend hours optimizing flight redemptions or comparing cashback multipliers on $9 lattes. You know what’s worth more than 5x on gas? Making 5x more in your business.

You don’t need a new card.
You need more Amazon sales.
You don’t need to learn 15 new points tricks.
You need to launch your damn product.

So go launch your damn product.

Buying Property in CR? Get a Lawyer (and ChatGPT)

Design of a house 4 doors down from me. Come be my neighbor?

Costa Rica loves using lawyers for buying and selling stuff. Buying a car? Gotta use a lawyer. Buying a golf cart? Lawyer. House or land? Lawyer too.

We’ve been pretty lucky with our lawyer. My advice: get a lawyer referral from someone who’s lived there for a while, not just your real estate agent.

The documents will be in Spanish, often with an English translation, but I highly recommend using ChatGPT or another LLM to review them. Ask it what to watch out for after comparing both the original and translated versions. Look into how Costa Rican law and your home country’s law might handle things differently.

When reviewing the final contract, which is usually printed on oversized legal paper, use image capture and translation tools to make sure everything matches what you agreed to. Double-check the details.

A friend of mine had a lawyer put the wrong unit number on the contract. No one caught it until after the sale. It turned into a massive pain and cost, and took over a year to fix. They had to create a whole new sale and register it again. Total mess.

There’s no undo button here, so be 100 percent sure about what you're signing and that you're signing the correct version.

  • DST Rescinded - Thanks, Trump! Now I’m not the world’s #1 Trump fan, but him strong-arming the Canadian Govt into rescinding the DST (Digital Services Tax) is certainly something I appreciate. Plus it’ll save me $10K CAD this year.

    I have mixed feelings.

Amazon Quietly Deletes One of the Only Ways to Contact your Customers

One of the features on Amazon I actually liked, “Customer Reviews” is being deprecated in a couple of months. This was a way you could instantly offer people concessions or help for leaving a negative review.

It’s a shame thing this one’s going away as it did a good job of convincing customers to change or remove their reviews. Remember, the going rate for a review removal service is $200 to $250, so you can see why this one hurts to lose.

The jury’s still out on if it will be replaced, but I’m hoping it will pop up somewhere else.
