Sorry About That…

egg on my face 🙃
A note on Friday's emails.
We got access to the Beehiiv API and got a little too excited about automating things around here.
Handed it off to Claude Code. Explicitly told it to save everything as drafts. It decided that was more of a “suggestion.”
Two broken emails. Entire list. 4,200 inboxes. Before we could blink. Our bad.
(our worst nightmare, tbh)
Here's the thing nobody talks about with AI agents. They don't fail slowly. They fail fast and at scale. One wrong assumption and it's not a typo in a doc -- it's a blast to your entire list. Always build the human checkpoint before the action, not after. Test on a segment. Confirm the output exists. Then let it run.
We know this. And we still learned it the hard way. Won't be the last time, probably.
(As an aside, this is the highest reply rate we've ever had. So maybe broken emails are the growth hack nobody's talking about. 🤣)
Building on the frontier means you're going to break things. That's the deal. You don't get to be early to something powerful and also have a clean track record. The people who never screw up with AI are the people who aren't actually using it for anything real.
Every seller I know who's doing interesting work right now -- automating ops, building tools, letting agents run parts of their business -- has a story like this. Most of them just don't tell you about it.
The gap between "this technology is incredible" and "this technology just emailed my entire list garbage" is about 30 seconds. That's the frontier. It's fast, it's messy, and the cost of a mistake scales with the power of the tool.
We'll keep building. We'll keep breaking things.
…Just not your inbox.
The IVS
Big thank you to our good friend Chad Rubin for supplying this week’s IVS. Chad's always building something worth paying attention to. You should check out his latest tool, Profasee Ultra.

Why most AI agents break Amazon accounts
Everyone's installing AI agents right now. Claude Cowork. OpenClaw. DIY automation. Then wondering why the AI just burned $200 organizing their Downloads folder.
Here's the mistake: AI agents only work if you build a delegation chain.
I call the top agent Claudia. Claudia is the AI COO. She doesn't do the work. She delegates.
Under Claudia are specialist agents:
Marko → PPC optimization
Oracle → Pricing decisions
Bruno → Inventory forecasting
Rex → Reimbursements
Those agents run on cheaper models via OpenRouter so you don't burn expensive AI credits. They do the work. Then report back to Claudia for decisions. Cheap models do the work. Expensive models make the decisions.
Without that structure you get what most DIY setups produce: Confidently wrong AI.
On Amazon the difference between $500 and $5,000 is one zero. Raise the wrong price. Pause the wrong campaign. Break your inventory forecast. All while you're asleep.
That's why sellers experimenting with OpenClaw quickly realize: You're not just building an AI. You're building an entire AI org chart. (See the delegation chain below.)

That delegation chain keeps the system accurate, stable, and cost-efficient. So I built this architecture into Profasee Ultra for Amazon sellers.

Inside Ultra's Mission Control you can literally watch the agents working. Two modes: Observe Mode — agents suggest changes. Handle It Mode — agents execute automatically.
Last night in my account the agents:
Paused $84 of wasted ad spend
Raised price after a competitor stocked out
Flagged an upcoming stockout
Filed reimbursement claims Amazon owed

We're onboarding 10 brands right now. Once this cohort fills, the next opening is April.

Costa Rica Is Not a Nanny State

One of the things that still makes me laugh about living in Costa Rica is that it definitely isn’t a nanny state. Back in Canada, everything is regulated. Signs everywhere. Safety rules for everything. Someone somewhere has written a manual explaining exactly how something must be done. Here, the system works a little differently. You’re expected to use your head….or maybe lose it.
Take the guys who deliver our propane tanks. The first time I saw one pull up to the house it completely blew my mind. He arrived on a motorcycle with a full propane tank strapped to the back like it was just another delivery bag. No truck. No safety cage. Just a strap and off he goes down the road.
Growing up in Canada, transporting propane felt like a military operation. Windows down. Tank upright. Don’t leave it in the car too long. Don’t drive far with it. Definitely don’t mess around with it. And here these guys are cruising down the highway with one bouncing behind them like it’s a pizza delivery.
The best part is nobody even notices. Cars pass them. Buses pass them. Life goes on.
Now when our propane runs out, a guy shows up on a motorcycle, swaps the tank in about 30 seconds, straps the empty one on the back and heads off to the next house. No bureaucracy. No forms. No regulations handbook. Just people doing their job and using a bit of common sense.
Sometimes it still makes me nervous when I see them riding down the road with that tank bouncing behind them. But that’s Costa Rica. Less nanny state. More personal responsibility.

Capture Spanish Shoppers on Amazon

About ~15% of Amazon USA traffic is Spanish-speaking.
15%. That's not nothing.
You can create a full Spanish copy of your A+ Images, videos, and 100 characters of Spanish meta search terms. Anyone with ES language selected sees the Spanish version automatically.

To do it, duplicate the content in draft, and change to “US Spanish”
The move: Duplicate your existing A+, translate it, publish as the Spanish version. Done. Easy in 5 seconds w/ Nano Banana Pro 2.
Small win... but it's free, it's fast, and 99% of your competitors haven't touched it.

Your Hotel Safe Has a Master Code (It's Probably 0000)

Did you know that many hotel room safes come with a master override code? It's often something simple like 0000 or 9999, or even the last four digits of the hotel's phone number. Housekeeping staff use this code regularly to access the safes for various reasons.
There are plenty of YouTube videos showing how people can open up to 12 different hotel safes in under a minute, which really highlights how vulnerable these safes can be. So, it's a good idea to be extra careful when storing your valuables! For important items like your passport, emergency cash, or a backup credit card, consider taking additional precautions. 🤣
The Deep Dive (Premium Content)

Ever notice how Claude "forgets" everything the second you start a new chat?
Big thank you to my friend @Danny McMillan for supplying this week’s Deep Dive. Danny’s one of the kindest, no-bs people in the industry right now. You should introduce yourself. Danny runs Seller Sessions live. Check it out - May 9, 2026.
You re-explain your preferences. You re-specify your format. You repeat yourself... again.
It's not a bug, it's just how the context window works. But there's a fix. A Skills Pack for Claude Desktop, basically a set of instruction files you install once and drop into any conversation. Format locked. Dates validated. Decision panels instead of open-ended questions. Your preferences already set before you type a single word. No coding. No API keys. Just drag and drop .md files into Settings > Capabilities... done in two minutes.
The idea is dead simple: stop training Claude from scratch every conversation. The pack includes always-on skills like format-lock, date-locker, and flow-state (which tracks context drift and warns you before things go sideways), plus on-demand tools for flowcharts, research, and slide decks. If you're using Claude regularly for your business and still explaining yourself every single chat... this is the fix.
